REMINGTON 2023 Bullet Hawkbill "The One That Got Away" R693 by Great Eastern Cutlery knives for sale

April 9, 2024

In our recent Instagram post, you may have noticed a hawkbill on this charcuterie board. This photo might not make sense to you, but it does allow me to advertise in more places. It got me thinking about what this blade shape is for; indeed, it is not for cutting cheese.

You could use this Remington Bullet for cutting and slicing; its sharp point is a perfect tool to pierce materials.

This shape utilizes the entire length of the blade to cut, so you don’t have to apply as much pressure when cutting.

It’s great for cutting open boxes, stripping wires, and slicing through cylindrical objects. It was traditionally used for cutting through thick vegetation, carving intricate patterns, cutting the rope on a moving ship, or any job that requires quick and accurate work. It has also been used decoratively, as a status symbol, and even in combat. The unique blade shape allows for precise, controlled cuts, significantly reducing the risk of accidental damage.

Even after the blade has dulled, it is nice that the point is still very sharp; the downside is it can be tricky to sharpen.

Great Eastern Cutlery made this particular knife for Remington. They are available at a minimum allowed listing price.
